Club Rules

1 ARTICLE NAME

Erie Shores Jeeps & 4x4 will be referred to as the "club" in this document.

2 OBJECTIVE

The club's purpose as a non-profit organization:

  1. Provide a good environment for families to get together.

  2. Promote and support recreational off road driving activities.

  3. Participate in activities which enhance the image of off road driving and benefit the community.

3 AFFILIATION

The club will maintain membership with East Coast Four Wheel Drive Association known as E.C.4.W.D.A. and any other national or regional associations which enhance our objective.

4 QUALIFICATIONS

Members must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.  Before being able to join, prospective member's must:

  1. participate in a minimum of 1 club event with at least 1 officer present.

  2. submit an application to a club officer at a club meeting.

  3. pay all dues in full (if applicant is accepted) before they will be eligible to vote or receive any other club benefits.

  4. meet vehicle requirements (described later).

5 MEMBERSHIP

  1. All members must conduct themselves in a respectable and orderly fashion at all times during club events.  Any member or passenger not doing so will be ejected from the event with no moneys refunded.

  2. Dues must be paid yearly by October 10th.  Members with dues not paid by this date will be dropped from the mailing list and considered not a member, until dues are paid in full.

  3. Members are responsible for notifying the club Secretary of address, phone number, and email changes.

6 CLUB EVENT

  1. All club events must be conducted following "Tread Lightly" principles and rules set forth by the club.

  2. No alcohol will be permitted in a vehicle at any time during a club event.

  3. Any one found under the influence of drugs or alcohol during a club event will be ejected from the club.

7 VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Vehicle must be properly registered, licensed, and insured.

  2. It is the driver's responsibility to be sure the vehicle is in good safe running working order.

  3. Have working factory seatbelts for driver and each passenger in the vehicle.

  4. Basic first-aid kit.

  5. Approved towing device at front and rear of vehicle.

  6. C.B. radio or hand held device for communication.

  7. Tow strap with loops.  No hooks or chains are permitted during a club event.

  8. Small fire extinguisher.

8 MEETINGS

  1. There shall be a monthly meeting scheduled at place and time designated.

  2. Additional club officers meetings shall be made as necessary.

  3. Voting and all club business shall be decided with a majority vote by those in attendance at a regularly scheduled meeting.

  4. The Treasurer's report will be read at regularly scheduled meetings.  Reports are available upon request by any club member.

9 OFFICERS

Club officers shall be responsible for carrying out there club appointed position.  Any officer, not able to hold the position, must submit their resignation to the club President for the position to be voted on at the next meeting.  The following officer positions are elected annually:

  1. President shall preside over all the membership, help organize and carry out the wishes of the club members, and be present whenever possible, at all club meetings.

  2. Vice-President shall, in the absence of the President, serve in that capacity.  Vice President shall be present at club events whenever possible, and serve as Treasurer or Secretary in the event of there absence, and perform other duties as may be assigned by the President.  In the event the President resigns, the Vice President shall fill that position and members shall vote for a new Vice President.

  3. Treasurer shall have responsibility of keeping accurate and complete records of the funds and accounts of the club, and collect all dues and fees.  Treasurer shall make only such disbursement for the club as are approved by the membership.

  4. Secretary shall have responsibility of keeping all records, club membership and minutes, and receive and write all club correspondence.

  5. Safety shall be responsible for informing members of safety during club events, and to inspect vehicles as needed.

  6. Land Use shall be responsible for informing club membership of issues that affect the membership's recreational use of public land.

  7. Community Service shall be responsible for organizing club events to give the public positive awareness of the club.
